Stencilled Background Giraffe Card

I love playing with different techniques in my crafting. Often I find that once you start with a technique, it's so much fun that you don't want to stop playing. Stencilling is just one of those fun techniques that I love experimenting with and there are so many ways to use them.

For my giraffe card, I was playing with the new Water & Dotted Lines 12" x 12" Decorative Masks (stencils) to create some cool background texture. The water decorative mask can be used for far more than just water. As you can see I used it to create a giraffe patterned background. You could also use it to create water of course, cobblestones, stone walls, paths and more. You can use your Blending Brushes, Sponge Daubers, Water Spritzers, watercolour wash, direct ink pad, heat embossing, brayer and so much more.

To create my patterned background piece I used Pecan Pie ink with a Blending Brush, onto Basic Beige Cardstock and layered that piece onto an Old Olive card base.

For the strip layer I used Pecan Pie ink on Pecan Pie cardstock using the dotted lines Decorative Maske in the vertical orientation.

The stamped images were from the Silly Safari Stamp Set.

The giraffe was stamped with Early Espresso Classic Stampin' Pad and coloured using Stampin' Blends Ivory and SU600 from the Natural Tones Medium Combo.

The leaves were stamped in Granny Apple Green for the solid leaves and Garden Green for the finer palm leaves.

The sentiment was stamped with Early Espresso Classic Stampin' Pad.

I finished off the card with 2025-2028 In Color Dots emellishments.
