Moonlit Flora Cards - Simple & Stepped-up

Do you prefer simple designs or stepped-up cards when you are creating? Have you ever taken a simple layout, then added layers, texture and technique to step it up? I love doing this and showing the versatility of a layout and of the products themselves. 

I did just that with the gorgeous Moonlit Flora Suite for these cards below. 

I took this sketch layout and first created a simple, quick & easy design using the Moonlit Flora Suite products.

For this simple design I used the Moonlit Flora Designer Series Paper with the Fern & Flora stamp set and two sizes of the Circle Punches - 2 3/8" & 1 3/4". 

The card base is Secret Sea Cardstock, with the Designer Series Paper layer then a narrow layer of plain Basic White Cardstock, with three small circled punched from different designs of the Moonlit Flora Designer Series Paper pack. 

I kept the stamping simple by stamping the ferns in Peaceful Pine ink on a Soft Sea Foam Cardstock circle. The sentiment was stamped on a rectangle piece of Golden Glow Cardstock in Secret Sea ink and I completed the card with three Dewdrops Embellishments.

For the stepped-up design I kept the layers the same, with some additions made.
To the Basic White narrow layer, I dry embossed it with the Fern & Flora 3D Embossing Folder.

To the Soft Sea Foam Circle, I added some Peaceful Pine ink using a small Blending Brush to add some tone, before stamping the fern images. 

I added some die cut pieces from the Fern & Flora Dies in Peaceful Pine and Berry Burst Cardstock, with Basic White for the flower centres.

The sentiment and label border were stamped in Peaceful Pine (I had meant to use Secret Sea but got carried away and forgot - still looks good though) with the Fern & Flora Stamp Set and then die cut the label with the coordinating Fern & Flora Dies.

I also added a moth, stamped in Secret Sea on Golden Glow Cardstock and die cut with the Fern & Flora Dies. 
I added the same Dewdrop Embellishments and included a small knot bow with Peaceful Pine Bordered Ribbon.

All the extra texture, layers and added techniques really stepped-up my card.

Card Base - Secret Sea - 21cm x 14.85cm, scored and folded at 10.5cm

Moonlit Flora Designer Series Paper  (leaves) - 10.1cm x 14.45cm

Narrow layer - Basic White Cardstock - 7cm x 14.45cm

Large 2-3/8" circle - Soft Sea Foam Cardstock - 7cm x 7cm

Three small 1-3/4" circles - Moonlit Flora Designer Series Paper - 5cm x 5cm each

Fern die cuts - Peaceful Pine Cardstock - 7cm x 8cm - large fern & flower stems/leaves

Flowers - Berry Burst Cardstock - 2.5cm x 5cm

Flower Centres - Basic White Cardstock - scrap

Moth - Golden Glow Cardstock - 4cm x 3cm

Sentiment Label - 7.5cm x 4cm
