Horse-themed Scene Card

I have been a horse lover and was riding horses since I was 18 months old, up into my mid 40's before I injured my back (not on horse back) and was very sadly no longer able to ride.

My children also rode horses and my middle child (who has always loved animals and now works in the marine animal field) started private riding lessons at the age of 5, with my older daughter starting a few years later. So of course when I saw the Unbridled Beauty stamp set, it was a must have.

All images, (except grass) were stamped using Early Espresso ink, including sentiment.

I first stamped the large horse on Basic White Cardstock, then used the Stampin' Up!® Masking Paper to create a mask for the big horse in the foreground (see tips in video below).

I then stamped all the images in the background and did all of the colouring before removing the mask and then colouring the big horse.
I matted the completed scene onto a piece of Early Espresso cardstock, wrapped some linen thread around the matted layers and tied in a knot.

The sentiment was stamped in Early Espresso ink onto Crumb Cake cardstock, then used a Sponge Dauber with Crumb Cake ink around the edges.

I adhered the sentiment to the scene with Stampin' Dimensionals.

I added some of the new Faux Bronze Pentagons at the top right corner, to embellish the card.

To colour the images I used the following Stampin' Blends:

Barn - Bronze & Ivory

Tree foliage - Dark & Light Old Olive

Tree trunks - SU400 from Naturals Medium Deep Combo

Fence - SU200 from Naturals Deep Combo

Grass around fence and barn - Dark Granny Apple Green

Large horse in foreground - SU500 from Naturals Medium Light Combo

To colour the background I used the following Classic Stampin' Pads with Blending Brushes:

Sky - Balmy Blue & Misty Moonlight

Grass - Granny Apple Green (stamped then blended with Blending Brush and ink)
