I was invited to join a fun Card Swap Chain. It operates similar to a game we used to play as kids, where one person whispers a message to the first person, then the second person tries to remembers the message to pass onto the next person and so on. At the end after it being passed around the group, you usually end up with a completely different message.
It's a similar concept but with CASEing (Copying And Selectively Editing) cards. It was a lot of fun and so interesting to see how others in the group interpreted people's designs and made it their own.
In the first round, each of us designed a card and sent it on the next person on the list. That person then CASEd our card and sent it on to the next person on the list and so on, until it went all the way around the ten participants and the final version came back to the original creator.
The first card in this chain was created by Genna Gifford. My suggestion is that you start at her blog post, then click through the blog hop list, so you can see the evolution of the original design.
My card you see below was the 3rd version of the original card created by Genna.
I always love creating these triple layer cards, but it had been a while since I had made one.
For this card I used the Textured Notes stamp set, stamping the images in Crumb Cake, Pecan Pie and Early Espresso.

- To create a triple layer card using this technique, you can have the layers centred, or off-set.
- You will need 3 different sized layers of a basic colour - white, vanilla, or in this case Basic Beige and coordinating sized mat layers of coloured cardstock.
- Apply a small amount of Stampin' Seal, a Mini Glue Dot, or low tack tape in the centre of the reverse side of the top two Basic Beige layers. Dab the adhesive with your finger, or onto your clothing to remove some of the tackiness, thus creating low-tack adhesive.
- Lightly adhere the three Basic Beige layers stacked one on top of the other.
- Start with your sentiment and stamp it in the your preferred position.
- Stamp all the other chose images around the sentiment, going over the three layers. Depending on the position of your stamp some images may only stamp over two layers.
- As you stamp over several layers, apply firm pressure and gently rock your stamp down onto the lower layer to transfer the image. There may be a small white gap where the layers meet, however this will be covered by the solid mat layers.
- After all the stamping is complete, gently separate the Basic Beige stamped layers.
- Adhere each layer to its coordinating mat layer, leaving a 2mm border on each side.
- Adhere each matted layer to complete your project.

Sometimes the cards in the Card Swap Chain change so much that if you only saw the first and last cards, you wouldn't realise that that they were on the same chain and been CASEd from the original card. For this chain the first and last card are very different, though all the cards kept the grouping of three elements on the card.
