Christmas Gate Fold with Traditions of Christmas Suite

I'm loving creating with the Traditions of Christmas Suite and making this gate fold card was so much fun. The decorated belly band just elevates this card to the next level.

This gate fold card is easier to create than it may look. Instead of scoring and folding the card in the middle, you score and fold from each end and fold the ends in to meet in the middle. The belly band strip of Designer Series Paper is then wrapped around the card to hold the gate folds closed, overlapped and secured at the front and the embellishing elements then placed over the top to hide the join in the Designer Series Paper.

To the bellyband I added a strip of Real Red Shiny Ribbon and adhered with Mini Glue Dots.

For the flowers I stamped the floral image from the Christmas Greenery stamp set in Memento Tuxedo Black ink then used the two step stamps to fill in the colour in Real Red, Old Olive, Pretty In Pink and Pool Party. All of the in fill colour stamps were stamped in 2nd generation, which means I inked them up then stamped off onto scrap paper first before stamping onto my image. This gives a softer colour. I then die cut the flowers with the coodinating Christmas Greenery dies and adhered to the bellyband with Multipurpose Liquid Glue. 

The sentiment was stamped in Real Red ink, using the Traditional Labels stamp set and die cut with the coordinating label die. I then popped the sentiment up on Stampin' Dimensionals.

I added a white insert piece to the inside of the card, which I decorated with a strip of the coordinating Designer Series Paper to match the front layer panels.

Of course every card needs some bling, so I finished off the card with three red Traditional Sparkling Sequins, which are stunning! (the photos don't the sequins, or the Designer Series Paper justice - they are gorgeous!).
