When you see new cardmaking or scrapbooking products, do you have those ones that you fall in love with straight away and just have to have? Me too! When I saw the Just A Note Bundle, I Ioved it straight away, especially the Dies with all the little stationery pieces. I mean, you had me at stationery! After all I am a paper crafter, right? I knew this bundle would be great for my scrapbooking but also to make cute cards.
As I started to think about my first project, I knew I wanted to create a mini clipboard, but I wanted it to be pretty. I remembered that I used to have a small clipboard that I used during my Facebook Lives in the early days, with notes on it, so I would remember all the things I had to say and share. So I went and hunted it down and it became my inspiration for this card. I had covered it with Designer Series Paper years ago and added ribbon and some bling to make it pretty (of course). Though my clipboard was decorated in different colours, the florals inspired me for this card and so, I began this project by choosing the Designer Series Paper for the base layers.
I absolutely love the design and colours of this piece of paper from the Florals In Bloom Designer Series Paper. All shades of purple are my favourite (along with pinks), so it was an easy choice. Adding the mat layer of Petunia Pop really made the Designer Series Paper, well, pop off the Bubble Bath coloured card base!
Next, it was the construction of the clipboard itself and the decorating. This was the fun part. Though choosing the Designer Series Paper was also fun.
I created the clipboard with a piece of Crumbcake Cardstock, which I rounded the corners of using an old retired Stampin' Up!® corner rounder punch. I then ran the clipboard through the Birch Wood 3D Embossing Folder to give it a wood texture.
I die cut a piece of Basic White Thick Cardstock with the note paper die from the Just A Note Dies and stamped the lines and sentiment on it with the Just A Note Stamp Set.
I then die cut and fussy cut all the decorative elements.
I adhered the die cut heart shaped paper clip to the note paper, then adhered the note paper to the clipboard.
I added the silver binder clip to the top of the clipboard, using a Stampin' Dimensional under the top part and Multipurpose Liquid Glue under the part that is directly on the white note paper, to make the clip look more realistic.
To decorate the little flag, I stamped the tiny flower background from the Memories in Bloom Stamp Set (which coordinates with the Designer Series Paper) in Fresh Freesia onto the same coloured cardstock.
I assembled the fussy cut flowers and leaves and little die cut heart and adhered them to the note paper.
I then adhered the assembled clipboard to the card front using Stampin' Dimensionals and
embellished with Purple Fine Shimmer Gems and Petunia Pop Bordered Ribbon.
It turned out super cute, don't you think?
