Botanical Textures Appreciation Card

I think I am a country girl at heart. It's in my blood. Though I and my siblings were brought up in the city, my parents were born and raised in the country and I love visiting their country home town whenever I can. I even lived there myself for a year in my teenage years. So I think this must be where my love of natural tones, textures and all things rustic comes from.

As I mentioned, I love creating with natural tones and texture, so the products from the Botanical Textures Suite Collection are just perfect for me. Projects created with these products would be great for the nature lovers, for masculine cards, or for anyone really and great for any occasion.

For my card, I started with a layer of Basic White Cardstock, which I embossed with the Mini Corrugated 3D Embossing Folder, then adhered this to the Early Espresso card base. 

I love the look of corrugation and it takes me back to my Grandma's house in the country, with her corrugated fences. So many great childhood memories at Grandma's house. 

The Woven Textures Designer Series Paper has beautiful photographic images of different natural woven textures. I used three different designs, tore one side for added texture and overlapped them on top of one another to reveal the edge of the piece below. 

For the stamped focal image, I first die cut a rectangle from Basic Beige Cardstock with the Textured Notes Dies, then stamped the images from the Textured Notes Stamp Set in Crumb Cake, Pecan Pie and Early Espresso inks. 

I layered the stamped panel onto a piece of Early Espresso Cardstock and wrapped a piece of White 1/4" Ribbon around the panel, tying in a knot at the left side. I then adhered the panel to the card front using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

For the sentiment I used Early Espresso Ink on Crumb Cake Cardstock, then used a Sponge Dauber to apply ink around the edges. I then adhered the sentiment label to the card front, using Stampin' Dimensionals. 

I embellished the card with some Neutral Matte Dots.
