Peaceful View Sunrise Card

As soon as I saw the Peaceful View stamp set, it reminded me of a place in the country where my sister used to run her photography business many years ago. I helped her on several occasions and it was lots of fun watching her work, as she taught me about photography and lighting.

She took photos of my children there too when they were little and I still have those photos framed up on the wall to this day. There was an old wooden fence and lots of dense Australian bush, with many trees. So, although this stamp set only has one tree it still reminds me of Cobbitty.

I started by stamping the large Peaceful View Sunrise stamp in Early Espresso ink onto Basic White Cardstock. You can use either the large Clear Block F, or a stamp positioning tool.

Let the ink dry before adding colour with the Blending Brushes, to avoid smudging of the stamped image and of transferring the dark ink onto your Blending Brushed and into your ink pads.

Creating the sunrise background was lots of fun and is very easy to do using inks and Blending Brushes. Once you have inked up your Blending Brush by brushing it over your ink pad several times, dab off excess ink onto scrap paper before blending the ink onto your project. For best results use a circular motion and repeat to get the depth of colour you desire. It is best to start off lighter and keep adding layers of ink to deepen the colour.

For this sunrise background I used the new 2025-2027 In Color inks. I started with the deepest colour, Secret Sea for the dark shadows on the ground, then Darling Duckling for the yellow sun rising, Timid Tiger for the orange, a touch of Strawberry Slush for the pink in the sky and finishing off with Cloud Cover in the sky.

The sentiment was stamped in Early Espresso ink onto Basic White Cardstock and die cut with the Spotlight on Nature Dies.

I added the completed sunrise scene to a layer of Basic White Cardstock to frame the image, then onto a Strawberry Slush Cardstock card base.

Here is another colour variation of the same card.

For this variation, I used Secret Sea Cardstock for the card base with a layer of Cloud Cover Carstock to fame the stamped image. The scene was stamped onto Basic White cardstock and has been coloured using the same In Colors as the first card.

For the sentiment label I stamped the sentiment in Secret Sea ink onto Cloud Cover cardstock, angled one end and ran the ink pad around the edges.

I used Timid Tiger Faux Linen Ribbon for the flag under the sentiment and Timid Tiger embellishments from the 2025-2027 In Color Flat Pearls.

I hope my projects have inspired you in your creativity and encouraged you to create something beautiful for someone you care about.
