Nature's Paintings Watercoloured Sunflowers Card

The new Nature's Paintings Kit is fantastic kit for those who love, or would like to try watercoloring with watercolour pencils. It comes with a book of 24 botanical printed designs, 8 Watercolour Pencils in Stampin' Up!® colours and a Water Painter brush that you fill will water.

Each botanical image is printed on thick cardstock which holds the water well.

I recommend having a piece of paper towel (kitchen towel) ready for cleaning your Water Painter between colours and for blotting if you get too much water on your brush, or on the cardstock.

I had fun using the Nature's Paintings Kit to create this sunflowers card, by adding a few additional items. You can see a full list of products and get a closer look at the kit below.

I coloured the image with the Watercolour Pencils and Water Painter included in the kit and let it dry. I was in a hurry as I was filming, so I used my Heat Tool on the no.1 low setting to speed up the drying time. I then trimmed down the coloured image page and matted it on an Early Espresso cardstock layer to frame the image. I wrapped some Linen Thread around the matted image and tied it in a bow before adhering to the card base with Stampin' Dimensioanls. I then added a sentiment and some embellishments to complete the card.

Of course you can use these watercolored images in many different ways. You could simply enjoy colouring the images and keep them in the book, or tear them out of the book, write a note on the back and send to someone else. You could frame them, make cards with them, or use them in other ways in your papercrafting. There are so many options.

This kit would also make an awesome gift for someone you care about. Below is a photo of what comes in the kit. The book contains 24 botanical printed images, ready for you to water colour.

After filming the video as I created this card, I went back over the flower centres with some Early Espresso and Pumpkin Pie pencils, as well as defining the veins on the leaves in Garden Green pencil then going over the pencils again with the Water Painter. These little added touches made a big difference to the finished card.
