You Make My Heart Smile Card

Thank you for joining us for this month's Let's Craft Together Blog Hop. We are a group of Stampin' Up!® Demonstrators from Australia who have developed a wonderful friendship through our love of stamping and admiration of each other's creativity.

Each month, one of us takes turn to set a blog hop challenge, where we share our creativity with others through our blog hops. Be sure to hop along to them all, for lots of creative inspiration. You will see the list below.

This month it was Maheswari Rajaguru's turn to choose the theme of our challenge and she has chosen a Sketch Challenge for us. Sketch Challenges are always so much fun and it's interesting to see how everyone interprets the challenge in their own designs.

Maheswari gave us a sketch to design our cards this month. See the image below.  Perhaps you would like to try this challenge too.

For my project I have featured the Layers of Beauty Bundle, including the decorative masks, which is a fun way to colour the large stamped image using Blending Brushes.

You Make My Heart Smile Card

I first stamped the largest floral image twice with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and to colour the images I used the Layers of Beauty Decorative Masks and Blending Brushes. The decorative masks are numbered 1-5, so that you know which order to use them. For the colours on the roses I chose Petunia Pop, Highland Heather, Gorgeous Grape and for the leaves I chose Shaded Spruce and Pretty Peacock.
I then die cut the entire foliage using the largest Layers of Beauty Die. I then die cut the single flower from within the larger bouquet with the coordinating die. With the left over pieces I cut them apart and pieced them together to form smaller bouquets of flowers.
I used the Bone Folder and my fingers to shape the flowers and leaves for more dimension and interest.
I paired the Layers of Beauty Bundle with the Perennial Lavender Designer Series Paper, which I inked around the edges with Highland Heather Ink and a Sponge Dauber to soften the edges.
I layered the Designer Series Paper onto a layer of Highland Heather ink before adhering to the Gorgeous Grape Card Base which had been inked around the edges with Gorgeous Grape ink using a Blending Brush.
I then arranged the floral pieces adhering using a combination of Multipurpose Liquid Glue and Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere them to the card front. I think used Wink of Stella on some of the small flowers.
For the sentiment label I stamped the greeting in Gorgeous Grape ink, then using a Sponge Dauber, inked around the edges in Highland Heather ink.
I trimmed off one of the the silver metallic edges from the Silver & White Sheer Ribbon and frayed it to form silver thread which I tied a messy bow and adhered to the bouquet in the upper left corner.
I embellished using Adhesive-Backed Sparkle Gems.
