My team and I recently shared in a fun Team Card Swap, where we created our own card designs using products from the Sept-Dec 2024 Mini Catalogue. We then created multiples of our card and sent them out to each person in the swap, which means that we end up with several different cards that we can use for inspiration. It's so much fun to be part of a swap.
You can see all the Team Swap cards in my video below.
Here is my card that I created for the swap, using the Shepherd's Care stamp set. This card has several different techniques and was so much fun to create.
Measurements
Card Base - Pecan Pie Cardstock - 21cm x 14.85cm, scored and folded at 10.5cm
Layer - Winter Meadow Designer Series Paper (blue) - 9.5cm x 9.5cm
Layer - Season of Elegance Specialty Designer Series Paper - 10.1cm x 14.45cm
Tag - Crumb Cake Cardstock - 7.5cm x 10.5cm
Stamped shepherd and star images - Basic White Cardstock - 9cm x 10.5cm
Sentiment banner - Misty Moonlight Cardstock - 10.1cm x 2cm
Instructions
To create the folded corner background from the Season of Elegance Specialty Designer Series Paper, measure 1cm from the top left corner and make a pencil mark, then measure 9cm from the top down the right side and make a pencil mark. Then score a diagonal line between the two marks and fold the Designer Series Paper over to the front, to form a triangle.
Adhere the folded triangle to the front of the Designer Series Paper.
Before adhering the Season of Elegance Designer Series Paper to the card base, first adhere the blue Winter Meadow Designer Series Paper to the upper right corner, ensuring it will line up with the Season of Elegance Specialty Designer Series Paper once in place (see video below for tips).
Then adhere the folded Season of Elegance Designer Series Paper to the card base.
Die cut a tag from Crumb Cake Cardstock using the Greetings of the Season Dies.
With the tag still in the die, flip it over and on the reverse side use a stylus on the cardstock to run around the inside edge of the die, creating a bevelled edge on the front of the tag. Carefully remove the tag from the die.
Stamp the village twice side by side across the tag, using Pecan Pie ink.
Use a Sponge Dauber with Pecan Pie ink to ink distress the tag edges and a Blending Brush to blend some ink onto the centre of the tag.
Adhere the tag to the card front using Stampin' Dimensionals.
Stamp the Shepherd with Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto Basic White Cardstock. Allow ink to dry before colouring the image with Watercolor Pencils. See tips on blending Watercolor Pencils without water, in the video below.
Fussy cut around the shepherd using Paper Snips Scissors.
Adhere the shepherd to the tag using Stampin' Dimensionals, ensuring the hole at the top of the tag is covered by the shepherd.
Stamp the star using Versamark ink onto Basic White Cardstock and heat emboss with Gold Embossing Powder and a Heat Tool.
Fussy cut the star using Paper Snips Scissors.
Adhere the star to the top right of the tag using a Mini Stampin' Dimensional.
Rub an Embossing Buddy anti-static pillow over the Misty Moonlight sentiment strip before stamping the sentiment in Versamark ink, towards the right side of the banner.
Heat emboss the sentiment using White Embossing Powder and a Heat Tool. Allow to cool.
Use a Sponge Dauber and Misty Moonlight ink to ink distress the edges of the sentiment banner.
Wrap Linen Thread around the banner a few times and tie in a knot on the front. Trim as needed.
Adhere the sentiment banner to the card front using Stampin' Dimensionals.
Embellish the card using Drusy Adhesive-Backed Embellishments around the star on the blue Designer Series Paper.
