Country Flowers Teapot Card for Let's Craft Together Blog Hop

Country Flowers Teapot Card

Thank you for joining us for this month's Let's Craft Together Blog Hop. We are a group of Stampin' Up!® Demonstrators from Australia who have developed a wonderful friendship through our love of stamping and admiration of each other's creativity.

Each month, one of us takes turn to set a blog hop challenge, where we share our creativity with others through our blog hops. Be sure to hop along to them all, for lots of creative inspiration. You will see the list below.

This month's challenge is a Tic Tac Toe Challenge and was chosen by Carolina Evans.

We had to choose one row across, down or diagonally from the grid and create with those three themes on our project.

I chose the middle horizontal line - Die Cut Shape, Favourite Stamp Set and Technique. On my project you will find several die cut shapes and techniques and two of my current favourite stamp sets, so I think my card fits the brief pretty well.

  • For the die cut shapes I have used the stool, tea pot and flowers from the Country Flowers Dies and for the sentiment I have used a frame die from the Unbounded Love Dies.
  • For my favourite stamp setsI have chosen the Country Flowers Stamp Set and the Unbounded Love Stamp Set.
  • For my Techniques I chose tearing, colouring with Stampin' Blends and dry embossing to create a "faux linen" look on the framed sentiment.

I used one of the card sketch layouts from page 22 of the 2024-2025 Annual Catalogue to create the layout for my card. I wonder if you can pick which one I used?

The tearing technique is a great technique to add texture and interest to your project. By tearing the top edge of each piece of Country Lace Designer Series Paper then layering them over each other, I created graduated texture on the lower portion of my card.

Using the Country Flowers Stamp Set and Gray Granite ink, I stamped the tea pot and flowers onto Basic White Cardstock, then coloured them using Stampin' Blends. (See colours in Supply List). I then stamped the stool onto white-washed Country Woods Designer Series Paper before die cutting each stamped image.

This was the first time I had used the "faux linen" technique for the framed greeting, which may daughter taught me recently. I achieved this by stamping the sentiment onto Basic White Cardstock in Smoky Slate ink, then die cutting with the frame form the Unbounded Love Dies. I then placed the die cut framed sentiment into the cross-hatch embossing folder from the Basics 3D Embossing folder and ran it through the Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine with the Embossing plate. I then moved the embossed piece slightly in the folder to offset the design and ran it through a second time. After this, I placed the embossed frame between the two clear die cutting plates and ran it through again to slightly flatten the embossed design. It is important for this final step to use a clean and uncut top plate, so that the design is not distorted or imprinted with marks from the top plate.

I die cut the frame again in Silver Foil Cardstock and used the outer portion to frame the "faux linen" sentiment.

The bannered "wall hanging" beside the frame is cut from the Country Lace Designer Series Paper, then a banner snipped into the bottom end with Paper Snips Scissors.
