Let's Craft Together - Rustic Style

Thank you for joining us for this month's Let's Craft Together Blog Hop. We are a group of Stampin' Up!® Demonstrators from Australia who have developed a wonderful friendship through our love of stamping and admiration of each other's creativity.

Each month, one of us takes turn to set a blog hop challenge, where we share our creativity with others through our blog hops. Be sure to hop along to them all, for lots of creative inspiration. You will see the list below.

This month it was my turn to choose the theme of our challenge and so I chose Rustic Style as that is my favourite style to use on my projects.

Rustic design is a style that's natural, aged, organic, and maybe even a little distressed. Design styles like farmhouse, Tuscan, or coastal can also be described as rustic. Regardless of the variation, rustic style highlights rugged, natural beauty.

The team could use my image below as inspiration, or feel free to explore their own rustic inspiration.

For my project I have used the Spotlight On Nature Bundle with the Country Woods Designer Series Paper from the new 2024-2025 Annual Catalogue. I love all the texture on this card with every element having been distressed to create the rustic style.

Around the edges of the Crumbcake card base I have stamped the muslin cross hatch stamp from the Spotlight on Nature stamp set.
The dark wood paper has been scissor distressed around the edges, then inked with Early Espresso and a Sponge Dauber.
The surface of the white wash woodgrain paper has been lightly inked with Early Espresso ink using a Blending Brush, then the edges were scissor distressed, crumpled and inked with Early Espresso ink using a Sponge Dauber. I then splattered ink onto the paper using the Early Espresso Stampin' Write Marker.
All stamped images were stamped onto Basic Beige Cardstock in Early Espresso ink and coloured using Stampin' Blends, fussy cut with Paper Snips Scissors, then the edges inked with a Sponge Dauber and Early Espresso ink.
The Pecan Pie Centre Stripe Ribbon was ink distressed using a Sponge Dauber and Early Espresso Ink.
I die cut a piece of Basic Beige Cardstock using the third largest circle from the Spotlight On Nature Dies, inked around the edges using a Sponge Dauber. I then splattered ink onto the circle using the Early Espresso Stampin' Write Marker.
The sentiment was stamped in Early Espresso ink, edges inked and splattered as above then trimmed at diagonals on each end.
