Colour Challenge with Paper Florist Dies

Thank you for joining us for this month's Let's Craft Together Blog Hop. We are a group of Stampin' Up!® Demonstrators from Australia who have developed a wonderful friendship through our love of stamping and admiration of each other's creativity.

Each month, one of us takes turn to set a blog hop challenge, where we share our creativity with others through our blog hops. Be sure to hop along to them all, for lots of creative inspiration.

This month's challenge is a Colour Challenge chosen by Monique Fielder. I love the colour palette that Monique has chosen, inspired by the image below.

For my project I have chosen to use the Paper Florist Dies to create a beautiful floral spray in the colours of the challenge. I loved being pushed out of my comfort zone to use colours that I don't often use such as Pumpkin Pie and Crushed Curry. I added white to my project to make the flowers really pop, as there is white in the bowl in the image.

Colour Challenge with Paper Florist Dies

I love that with the Paper Florist Dies you can create an array of different types of flowers and leaves. This is a great way to use up all those little scrap pieces of cardstock.

I used Sponge Daubers to apply ink to the flower petals and leaves for more colour definition and interest.

Piecing the flowers together is so much fun and I find that the Multipurpose Liquid Glue is the best adhesive for this job.

In the centre of each flower is a Pretty Peacock coloured embellishment from the Loose Frosted Dots.

The white background has been embossed with the Exposed Brick 3D Embossing Folder, with the edges distressed for a more rustic look, then matted with a fine black border, before adding to the Pretty Peacock card base.

The sentiment from the So Sincere stamp set has been stamped in Versamark ink onto Basic Black Cardstock and heat embossed with white embossing powder, then die cut with the label die from the Cheerful Daisies Dies.

How gorgeous is that little Black and White Gingham Ribbon bow!
