Bee Mine Interlocking Gate-fold Card

February is the month of love, so they say. Yes it's Valentine's Day in February but we can tell someone that we love them any and every day of the year. 

The card I am sharing today is a love-themed card that can be given for a special occasion, or just because we want to tell someone how much they mean to us. 

Bee Mine Interlocking Gate-fold Card

I used the Bee Mine Designer Series Paper for this Interlocking Gate-fold card for the layers and to fussy cut the bees. Aren't those little buzzy bees just so adorable! 

This gate fold card is quite easy to construct without any complicated folds or mechanisms. The base card is folded at each side into the middle, then the top and bottom horizontal flaps are attached on the left side and the centre flap attached on the right side. When the card is opened and closed, the horizontal flaps interlock.

Interlocking front horizontal panels

Each of the vertical and horizontal front cardstock panels has Designer Series Paper added. I made sure to add the ribbon to the centre panel before adhering it to the front of the card. I strategically added adhesive to the Vellum, in places that would be hidden by other elements such as the sentiment and bees.

I added a white insert panel to the inside of the card with a narrow strip of floral Designer Series Paper at the bottom and another fussy cut bee to fly above the flowers. 
If you wish you could also add Designer Series Paper to the inside panels of the card but as you can see I decided to leave mine plain, which brings the focus to the white panel.

Cardstock pieces:

Card Base - Sweet Sorbet - 21cm x 14.85cm, scored and folded at 5.25cm from each end.

Horizontal Interlocking Panels - Sweet Sorbet (cut 3) - 10.1cm x 4.7cm

Inside Insert - Basic White - 10.1cm x 14.45cm

Insert Floral Strip - 10.1cm x 1cm

Vellum Label - 8cm x 4cm

Vellum Circles (cut 2) - 10cm x 5cm

Bee Mine 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper pieces: 

Front Vertical Panels (cut 2) - 4.85cm x 14.45cm

Front Horizontal Panels (cut 2) - Heart design - 9.7cm x 4.3cm

Front Horizontal Panel, centre piece - (cut 1) - Flower design - 9.7cm x 4.3cm

Fussy cut 3 bees as desired - 2 for front and 1 for inside
