Perennial Lavender Thank You Card

What can I say about the Perennial Lavender Suite??? It combines three of my favourite things - all things purple, flowers and butterflies, so as soon as I saw it, I was in love. It went straight to the top of my shopping list.

Perennial Lavender Thank You Card

The Perennial Lavender Suite includes not one, but two stamp and die bundles - Painted Lavender Bundle and the Perennial Postage Bundle plus the stunning Perennial Lavender Designer Series Paper, Paper Butterfly Accents and Purple fine Shimmer Gems. To create my card I started with a Crumb Cake card base. 

I used the Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine to die cut the Gorgeous Grape Layer with the largest Perennial Postage Die. 

The Designer Series Paper layer was then adhered to the Gorgeous Grape layer and softened with a Vellum overlay piece added. When adhering your Vellum to the Designer Series Paper, be sure to add your adhesive where it will be covered by the floral focal image, sentiment and butterfly so that the adhesive cannot be seen through the Vellum.

The Lost Lagoon Bordered Ribbon strip was then wrapped around the layers and adhered at the back. I then took a shorter 8cm strip of ribbon and tied it around the ribbon strip, forming a knot.

I then adhered the layers to the Crumb Cake card base. 

To create the lavender blooms from the Painted Lavender Stamp set, I stamped the image in Highland Heather ink in first generation (first stamping) and then stamped again, offsetting the blooms in second generation (second stamping without re-inking your stamp). 

The stems were stamped in Garden Green ink onto Basic White Cardstock. 

Both images were then die cut with the Painted Lavender Dies and the stems adhered to the base of the blooms with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

I then wrapped some Linen Thread around the stems three times and tied a bow.

The sentiment was stamped in Gorgeous Grape ink and fussy cut with Paper Snips Scissors.

The two die cut leaves were die cut from Lost Lagoon Cardstock then adhered at the stems to the lavender blooms with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

To adhere the blooms and , I used Multipurpose Liquid Glue at the stems and on the Lost Lagoon leaves, then Mini Stampin' Dimensionals behind the Lavender Blooms so that they sat up off the card. 

The sentiment is also adhered with Mini Stampin' Dimensionals.

The tips of the wings of the Paper Butterfly Accent were coloured with a Small Blending Brush and Fresh Freesia Ink. The body of the butterfly was coloured with a Crumb Cake Stampin' Write Marker. I then adhered the butterfly with tiny pieces of Stampin' Dimensionals which I cut from the edge pieces of Dimensionals. 

I added some glimmer to the Lavender blooms and butterfly wings with the Wink of Stella Glitter Brush then finished off my card with three Purple Fine Shimmer Gems.

Card Base - Crumb Cake Cardstock - 21cm x 14.85cm, scored and folded at 10.5cm

Layer - Gorgeous Grape Cardstock - 10.5cm x 14cm, die cut with the largest Perennial Postage Die

Layer - Perennial Lavender Designer Series Paper - 8.5cm x 11.5cm

Layer - Vellum Cardstock - 8.5cm x 11.5cm

Leaves - Lost Lagoon Cardstock - 10.5cm x 9cm, cut two leaves

Lavender Blooms - Basic White Cardstock - 7cm x 8cm

Flower Stems - Basic White Cardstock - 7cm x 3cm 

Sentiment - Basic White Cardstock - 7cm x 5cm

Ribbon - Lost Lagoon Bordered Ribbon - 12cm & 8cm
