Diamond Pop-up Fun-fold Card

We all love pretty papers right? You wouldn't be a papercrafter without it. Well take a look at this very pretty Flight & Airy Designer Series Paper from the 2024 Sale-A-Bration Brochure. With it's pretty blue birds that can be fussy cut, or die cut (as I have on my card) and gorgeous florals, it's such a lovely paper pack to create with. This paper was just perfect for my Diamond Pop-up Fun-fold Card.

I was inspired to create this pop-up fun-fold card after receiving a beautiful card a while ago from one of my lovely team members. The original card was a 5" x 7" card and so my lovely assistant (and daughter) adjusted the measurements for me to create a standard sized card to fit into a regular sized envelope. The best bit was that I didn't have to try to work out the measurements. Yay! Gotta love that! 

The panels are basic layers on this card, however the easiest way to learn how to create the pop-up mechanism and attach it correctly is to watch my step-by-step video below. 

Feel free to fast forward through the chatter at the beginning of the video, as this was recorded Live. 

You can use any Designer Series Paper and stamped images to create this card with your choice of stamped sentiment. The White Baker's Twine bow was added after I finished filming the video, but you could instead add coordinating ribbon of your choice.

Card Base - Petal Pink Cardstock - 21cm x 14.85cm, score and fold at 10.5cm & then score at 5.25cm and fold back on itself (see images above)

Inside Layer - Misty Moonlight Cardstock - 10.1cm x 14.45cm

Inside Layer - Flight & Airy Designer Series Paper - 9.7cm - 14.05cm

Front Panel & Inside Narrow Panel - Misty Moonlight Cardstock - 4.85cm x 14.45cm (cut 2)

                                                        - Flight & Airy Designer Series Paper - 4.45cm x 14.05cm (cut 2)

Featured bird images - Misty Moonlight Cardstock - 5.1cm x 5.1cm (cut 3)

                                   - Flight & Airy Designer Series Paper - die cut with 3rd largest stitched square from Stylish Shapes Dies (cut 3)

Pop-up Mechanism - Misty Moonlight Cardstock - 5cm x 12.5cm, score at 2.5cm, 5cm, 7.5cm & 10cm. Trim 1mm with Paper Snips Scissors off one end panel and adhere inside the other end after folding up the mechanism to form a rectangular prism - (see video instructions).

Sentiment - Basic White Cardstock - 5cm x 5cm

Back message panel - Basic White Cardstock - 10.1cm x 14.45cm
