I'm Thankful Autumn Leaves Card

Do you love trees? I have some wonderful memories of climbing trees when I was a kid. We had two huge Liquidambar trees in our backyard when I was growing up. They were the best climbing trees and when they were full of leaves they were so much fun to play in.

There are so many great memories of climbing these huge trees as high as I could, catching cicadas, collecting "pomblies" (spiky seek pods) and accidentally treading on the dried ones - ouch!, bush telegraph phones strung between the trees to talk to my sister or a friend in the other tree (two tin cans connected by string), making cable cars for my toys to ride between the two trees (a shoe box on string), raking up HUGE piles of leaves and then jumping into them, watching from up in the trees as the world went past (people walking along the footpath and cars driving past) and of course the best place to hide during games of hide and seek. So many great times were had in those beautiful trees.

I can still smell the leaves and feel that rough bark of the tree trunk. Many a scraped knee or elbow was had on that rough bark, but it was all worth it.

This card uses products from the All About Autumn Suite from the September-December 2023 Mini Catalogue. I just love all the texture on this card, giving it a really organic feel. How beautiful are these little Maple leaves, with their rich colours and the texture of the Oxidized Copper Specialty Designer Series Paper!

Card Base - Crumb Cake - 21cm x 14.85cm, scored and folded at 10.5cm

Layer 1 - Moody Mauve Cardstock - 14cm x 9.9cm

Layer 2 - All About Autumn Designer Series Paper (knitted blanket) - 14.85cm x 9.5cm

Ribbon Layer - Natural - 13.5cm, fray each end

                       - Copper - 11.5cm, trim to angle at each end

Layer 4 - Very Vanilla Cardstock - 14.85cm x 4cm, embossed with stitched detail die

Sentiment Label - Very Vanilla Cardstock - 6.5cm x 1.6cm, trim to angle at each end

Leaves - Oxidized Copper Specialty Designer Series Paper (Copper) - 5cm x 5cm

             - Oxidized Copper Specialty Designer Series Paper (Pretty Peacock) - 5cm x 5cm

             - Moody Mauve Cardstock - 5cm x 5cm 

             - Cajun Craze Cardstock - 5cm x 5cm

             - Copper Clay Cardstock - 5cm x 5cm

Ink around the edges of the Very Vanilla Cardstock layer and sentiment label with Crumb Cake ink and a Sponge Dauber. Ink around the Moody Mauve leaf with Moody Mauve ink. Ink around the Cajun Craze leaf and Copper Clay ink with Copper Clay ink.
