Merry & Bright Christmas Lights Card

Hi and welcome to my blog today.

So I have to ask...are you a traditional Christmas card colours kind of person? I thought I was, but guess what? I realised this week that I'm actually not!

Today I am sharing a really fun Christmas card using the Merry Bold & Bright Suite from the September - December 2023 Mini Catalogue. 

I have to admit that this suite really surprised me when I started playing with it. At first I flipped right past it in the catalogue as I just thought nope, it's not my style. I have to say though that when I started creating with it, I fell in love with it and now I absolutely love it.

I should have known I would love this suite because my family and I have an annual Christmas tradition of having a big Christmas light display on our house and we love to go and look at other people's light displays as well. So of course this suite just made sense to me when I realised that. 

Merry & Bright Christmas Lights Card

These light bulbs are so much fun, don't you think and you can stamp them in any colour you like. I have used Poppy Parade, Crushed Curry, Granny Apple Green and Blueberry Bushel, with Gray Granite for the bulb toppers and the string. There is a stamped light topper which I did stamp first to help line up the bulbs but I like the addition of the die cut topper as it gives more texture and interest to the bulbs. 

There are several sentiments in the Merry & Bright stamp set which are all separate, so you can mix and match them, which makes them more versatile and fun. 

The Fa La La paper is actually two strips, with the narrow strip at the top and the wider strip at the bottom. Using them in this way gives the illusion that it is one large piece, when in fact we are saving paper by just using strips.

The thin strips of Granny Green Foil Sheets and Iridescent Adhesive-Backed Discs add a fun shiny touch to the card.

The White Iridescent Ribbon is gorgeous and finishes off the card nicely.

Card Base - Crushed Curry Cardstock - 14.85cm x 21cm, scored and folded at 10.5cm

Layer - Merry Bold & Bright DSP - Fa La La - 13cm x 1.5cm (for top strip)

Layer - Merry Bold & Bright DSP - Fa La La - 13cm x 2.5cm (for bottom strip)

Layer - Basic White Cardstock - 14.85cm x 7cm

Strips - Granny Apple Green Foil Sheets - 14.85cm x 1cm - cut 2 strips

Sentiment - Basic White Cardstock - 9cm x 1.5cm

Light Globe Toppers - Gray Granite Cardstock - 10cm x 2cm
