Let's Craft Together Blog Hop - Tic Tac Toe Challenge

Thank you for joining us for this month's Let's Craft Together Blog Hop. We are a group of Stampin' Up!® Demonstrators from Australia who have developed a wonderful friendship through our love of stamping and admiration of each other's creativity. Each month, one of us takes turn to set a blog hop challenge for us all to participate in. This month's challenge is a Tic Tac Toe challenge, which is always lots of fun.
After finishing here on my blog, be sure to hop along to see what amazing creative inspiration the others in this hop have for you. You will see the list of names below my project.

For my Embossed Petal Park Tag Card I chose the centre horizontal line on the Tic Tac Toe grid to use Embossing, Designer Series Paper and Flowers.

My chosen products were the Petal Park Stamp Set and Petal Park Builder Punch, with the Bright & Beautiful 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper and the Cane Weave 3D Embossing Folder. I also added some heat embossing on my flowers and sentiment for a glossy effect, using Clear Embossing Powder from the Basics Stampin' Emboss Powders.

Embossed Petal Park Tag Card

The card layers are pretty straight forward to assemble with Multipurpose Liquid Glue or your preferred adhesive. I suggest attaching the More Dazzle Specialty Paper strip behind the Bright & Beautiful Designer Series Paper, before attaching the Designer Series Paper to left side of the Cane Weave embossed layer.

To create the tag on my card, I die cut the largest tag from the Designer Tag Dies and trimmed off the curved bottom and ribbon hole to create a straight edge.

I stamped the leaves outlines onto the tag in Granny Apple Green ink and then the solid colour leaves stamp over the top in Parakeet Party ink, to fill the colour. This is called two-step stamping.

Next I stamped the outline flower stamp in Gorgeous Grape ink and stamped two extra smaller flowers to fill in some white space around the leaves on the tag. I also stamped two additional sets of leaves on spare piece of Basic White cardstock. (Tip - before stamping the additional flowers, slide the extra Basic White cardstock piece into the punch to check which way the flowers will punch out, then stamp your flowers in that orientation). I then stamped the solid colour flower stamp in Fresh Freesia, over the flower outlines to fill the colour.

I went back in and stamped an additional small leafy branch between the two lower small flowers and stamped some of the splatter dots to fill some of the white space around the flowers and leaves.

To create the glossy effect on the additional flowers, I cleaned my solid colour flower stamp and stamped it in Versamark ink over the top of the Fresh Freesia coloured flowers. I then sprinkled on some Clear Embossing Powder, tipped off the excess and heated it with the Heat Tool until the powder became melted and glossy.
I punched out the additional flowers using the Petal Park Builder Punch. I snipped between each petal and gently shaped them with my Take You Pick Stylus tool and my Stampin' Pierce Mat. I then adhered them over the original stamped flowers on the tag for a 3D effect, using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

I then inked around the tag edges with Highland Heather ink and a Sponge Dauber.

For the sentiment label, I first inked up my stamp in Versamark Ink, then in Gorgeous Grape ink
(I used the edge of my Gorgeous Grape stamp pad). I then stamped the sentiment onto the Basic White sentiment strip, sprinkled on some Clear Embossing Powder, tipped off the excess and heated with the Heat Tool until the powder was melted and the sentiment became glossy.
I then punched each end of the sentiment label with the Happy Labels Pick A Punch and inked around the edges with Highland Heather ink and a Sponge Dauber.

For the ribbon on the tag, I threaded a piece of Basic White Herringbone Ribbon through the ribbon slot, then tied a piece of silver Simply Elegant Trim around the white ribbon to secure and tied a knot on the reverse side and trimmed the ends. I then tied a separate bow in the silver trim and attached it to the front of the white ribbon using a rolled Mini Glue Dot. I slightly frayed the edges of the white ribbon for some added texture, then trimmed as needed.
I adhered the tag at an angle on the card front using Stampin' Dimensionals.
I attached the sentiment label to the tag with Stampin' Dimensionals, so that the sentiment was straight on the angled tag.
I added Rhinestone Basic Jewels to the centres of each flower and finished off my card with three Gorgeous Grape coloured dots from the Glossy Dot Assortment pack.
