Have you ever seen a fun fold card that you wanted to create, but felt a bit intimidated? It can sometimes can feel quite overwhelming can't it?
This diagonal fun fold card was so much easier to create than it first looked and even the diagonal layers are super easy to create when you know the trick to it.

First let's chat about the Les Shoppes Designer Series Paper from the Les Shoppes Suite Collection in the 2023-2024 Annual Catalogue. This adorable suite has the fun Designer Series Paper full of fun shops, coordinating decorative elements and fun patterns. The suite also contains the Let's Go Shopping stamp set and die bundle and the Loose Silver Sequins. This Designer Series Paper though is so much fun to create little scenes with, as you can see on this Diagonal Fun fold Card. By using a fun fold card, you are able to add more elements to your card. These cute shops have been fussy cut with Paper Snip Scissors from the Les Shoppes Designer Series Paper. The pot plants and chalk board sign have been die cut from the same paper using the coordinating Let's Go Shopping dies. The Bakery sign and sentiment were stamped using the Let's Go Shopping stamp set and the lamp post and greenery were die cut with the Let's Go Shopping dies. The cobblestone footpath has been cut from the Designer Series Paper.
The background angled brick layers were created with Crumb Cake cardstock and then embossed with the Exposed Brick 3D Embossing Folder, which were then trimmed at the diagonal. See video for tips on how to easily trim the angled layers.

When the card is folded flat, it measures 9.9cm x 14.8cm and fits in a regular sized envelope. As you can see in this photo there are also some brick wall layers on the reverse side of the two shortest panels. This is so that when the card is closed, you still see the bricks. The reverse side of the tallest panel has been left white for writing a message.

Measurements
Card Base - Basic White - Full sheet of A4 Cardstock - 21cm x 29.7cm.
With long side across the top, measure down the short side on the left to 8.5cm from the top and put a pencil mark, on the right side measure down 14.8cm from the top and put a pencil mark. Cut across the diagonal between the two pencil marks to create your diagonal. With the long straight edge along the top of your trimmer, score at 9.9cm and 19.8cm. Fold the centre layer towards the tallest end, then fold back the shortest layer in the opposite direction. See video below for details of cutting and scoring your card base and layers.
Diagonal Layers - Crumb Cake Cardstock - 9.5cm x 10.2cm - Cut 2 pieces
- 9.5cm x 12.3cm - Cut 2 pieces
- 9.5cm x 14.4cm - Cut 1 piece
Emboss each layer piece with the Exposed Brick 3D Embossing Folder before trimming the top angle. For front panels - Line up top right corner of layer with top of card base, having even space on the left and right sides of the layer. Hold layer in place and flip card over. Trim along edge of card with scissors. Re-position layer and adhere with an even 2mm border around all fours sides. For reverse-side panels, repeat but this time line up top left corner to the top of card. See video tutorial below for tips on trimming each layer.
Shops - Fussy cut desired shops from Les Shoppes 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper.
TIP - use the partial pieces of shops from the edges of the Designer Series Paper, to go at either end of your card, slipping one edge under the full shop which is mounted in front, as seen on my tallest layer.
Lamp Post - Basic Black Cardstock - 2cm x 7cm
Bench Seat - Pecan Pie Cardstock- 4.5cm x 2.5cm
Greenery on shops - Granny Apple Green Cardstock - 4cm x 5cm - cut 2 pieces
Bakery Sign - Basic White Cardstock - 6cm x 3cm
Sentiment Label - Basic White Cardstock - 6.5cm x 1.3cm, trim left end at an angle.
