Zoo Crew Crocodile Tag Cards

Looking through some old cards this weekI was inspired by a card I made for my husband 17 years ago. Back in those days, most of the cards we made were much more simple in design, so I thought I would have a go at re-creating the layout with a bit of an updated look. I ended up creating two cards using the Zoo Crew Suite Collection. The first card was using the same layout as my original card, with a few upgrades and the second card (or alternate card, as I called it on my video) was a stepped up version, creating a cute scene on the tag.

This is the original card I created for my husband 17 years ago

And this is my updated version of the original, using the Zoo Crew Suite Collection.
Zoo Crew Crocodile Tag Card

This card is using the same layout as my original card. I used the Stripes & Splatters 3D Embossing Folders to emboss the Pool Party strip at the top of the card for some added texture. The floral Zoo Crew Designer Series Paper has animal designs on one side, with back and white designs on the reverse side, which I coloured with Stampin' Blends. I then used some scraps of the other designs in the Designer Series Paper for the grid on the tag. The designs were a bit heavy, so I added a square layer to soften them, using Vellum Cardstock cut with the Stylish Shapes Dies. I used the Very Best Trio Punch to punch the top corners of the tag and the ribbon notch. I stamped the cute bicycle riding crocodile in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and coloured it with Stampin' Blends, before adhering to the tag with Stampin' Dimensionals. The tag was then adhered to the card base using Stampin' Dimensionals.

Zoo Crew Crocodile Scene Tag Card
For my alternate card, instead of creating the grid with Designer Series Paper on the tag, I used the Zany Zoo Stamp Set and Dies to create a cute scene. I changed the strips on the base layer to Petal Pink, which coordinated well with the decorated tag. I created the tag from Basic White Cardstock, then using Blending Brushes with Balmy Blue and Lemon Lime Twist ink, created sky and grass. I stamped the sentiment onto the coloured tag. I then tore two strips of Lemon Lime Twist Cardstock and inked the torn edges with Lemon Lime Twist ink using a Sponge Daubers and adhere these to the bottom of the tag to create gassy slopes. I die cut some trees, flowers and clouds, inking the edges of each die cut shape using Sponge Daubers. Then stamped and coloured my crocodile as the card above and pieced together my scene. The crocodile, small tree and clouds were all adhered with Stampin' Dimensionals, while all other elements were adhered flat using Multipurpose Liquid Glue. The tag was then adhered to the card front using Stampin' Dimensionals.
