Earthen Elegance Textured Pots Card

Hi and welcome to my blog. We are blog hopping today with Kylie and Bruno Bertucci's Demonstrator Training Program. We are a group of Demonstrators from all around the world, who train together to learn how to grow and improve our Stampin' Up!® businesses. Each month we share in a fun blog hop together, to share our love of creativity with others and to inspire people to be creative. We have lots of amazing inspiration for you in this hop today. If you are starting here, or if you have hopped in from another blog, thank you for taking the time to visit my blog. I hope you enjoy my project today.

If you love texture like me, then you will love the Earthen Elegance Suite Collection in the new Stampin' Up!® 2023-2024 Annual Catalogue. With the gorgeous Earthen Textures Stamp Set and Dies to the stunning texture-look Designer Series Paper and Natural Woven Trim, this suite is beautiful and full of many different textures. I really loved creating my card today, while adding extra distressing and faux patina techniques to my project. Did I mention that distressing techniques are my favourite thing?

Earthen Elegance Textured Pots Card

I started with a card base of Crumb Cake to keep with a neutral colour scheme. It was so hard to choose which Designer Series Paper to use for my background because they are all so gorgeous. I love the particular paper I chose because of the texture design on it, which gives such depth to the paper.

I then added a layer of Pretty Peacock Cardstock beneath the Designer Series Paper, which I had inked with Pretty Peacock ink around all the edges using a Sponge Dauber. I love the pop of colour and wanted to tie in the colour of one of the pots.

I then chose a lighter colour Designer Series Paper for the pots to sit on, which I tore and inked with Crumb Cake ink using a Sponge Dauber on the edges and a Blending Brush lightly over the whole surface.

I added a strip of the Pretty Peacock coloured Designer Series Paper, torn on each end and inked with Pretty Peacock ink.

I then added a torn strip of Copper Clay Designer Series Paper, which I tore on all edges, then inked with a Sponge Dauber and Copper Clay ink.

I adhered some Natural Wavy Trim with Mini Glue Dots for added texture before adding my pots.

To create the pots I stamped the terracotta pot with Copper Clay ink onto Crumb Cake cardstock, then die cut it with the coordinating die. I then inked around the edges with Copper Clay ink using a Sponge Dauber. I wrapped some Natural Wavy Trim around the pot and secured it with Mini Glue Dots. I adhered my finished pot to the card with Stampin' Dimensionals. I used Pretty Peacock ink to stamp the foliage sitting in the tall pot onto Very Vanilla Cardstock, then inked the the edges and lightly over the foliage with Crumb Cake ink and a Sponge Dauber . I adhered the foliage with Stampin' Dimensionals.

The pot on the left was cut from a Pretty Peacock piece of the Earthen Elegance Designer Series Paper. I trimmed the top off of the pot to make it a little shorter and inked around all the edges with Copper Clay ink and a Sponge Dauber. I then used a craft sponge wedge to apply some Gold Metallic Enamel Effect to the pot to give it a faux patina effect and set it aside to dry. It dried fairly quickly and gave a fantastic gold finish to the pot. I adhered the pot with Stampin' Dimensionals. I then added the large palm frond to this pot, which I had die cut, shaped and inked with Crumb Cake ink and a Sponge Dauber. I placed a Mini Stampin' Dimensional behind the centre of the palm frond and added some Multipurpose Liquid Glue to the stem, which I had trimmed.

I cut the smallest pot from one of the Earthen Elegance Designer Series Papers, which I think really looks like a glazed pot. The pot was inked around all the edges with Crumb Cake ink, using a Sponge Dauber. (After assembling my card I added some Fine Tip Glue to the glaze to make it shiny). The branch sitting in the small pot was die cut from Pebbled Path Cardstock, which I inked with Pebbled Path ink using a Sponge Dauber. I adhered this pot between the two tall pots using two layers of Stampin' Dimensionals.

The sentiment was stamped onto Pebbled Path Cardstock, using Memento Tuxedo Black ink and the ends were trimmed using the Banners Pick A Punch. I adhered the sentiment label using Stampin' Dimensionals.

I embellished my card with three brass Brushed Metallic Adhesive-Backed Dots.
