Scrapbooking with Rain or Shine Suite products - Playing In The Hose

Well it's been a while, let's just say that. In fact it's been over 15 years since I have created a traditional scrapbooking layout. I have been saying for a while now, probably two or three years, that I would get back into it and start teaching scrapbooking again. So now I have finally taken the plunge.

I have to say I was quite nervous about it and procrastinated a little (ok, a lot) before taking the plunge back into the world of scrapbooking. I did some research into current trends, but I decided to start out fairly basic for my first layout. 

My layout features our gorgeous little 2 year old doggie/baby, Callie and her favourite game - Playing in the Hose. Callie is not a very playful doggie, now that she is a big girl, so there aren't many games, or toys that Callie likes to play, but she certainly loves to play and chase the water from the hose. Every time anybody turns on the hose, she hears it and runs straight towards it, trying to catch the water. If she is inside and hears someone turn it on outside, she runs straight to the window and then comes to get me to take her outside. She is a funny little girl. The white butterflies have special significance as well, which I talked about in my video if you are interested.

I used some of the products from the Stampin' Up!® Rain or Shine Suite to create this scrapbooking layout, although I didn't actually end up using the stamp set. I also used a few additional products as well. 

The background paper is the Rain or Shine 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper. I created photo mats with Mango Melody Cardstock. 

The title uses the Alphabet A La Mode Dies for the large lettering and The Alphabest stamp set with Best Label Punch for the small lettering. The Label Punch lettering was stamped in Balmy Blue ink, punched out, then I inked around the edges with Balmy Blue ink and a Sponge Dauber.

The journalling labels were created using the Very Best Trio Punch with Days To Remember Stamp Set, Irresistible Bloom Stamp Set and Balmy Blue ink.

The butterflies were die cut from the Playing In The Rain Dies which is from the Rain or Shine Suite. I used Basic White Cardstock, which I inked with So Saffron ink using a Sponge Dauber.

The water sprays were created using the Metallic Mesh Ribbon, snipped/trimmed, gathered and adhered.

The small flowers on the photo corners are the Loose Daisy Embellishments from the Rain or Shine Suite.

The sparkly sequins in the grass and clouds are the For Everything Fancy Sequins.

Measurements

Card Base - Basic White 12" x 12" Cardstock (for stability)

Designer Series Paper - Raine or Shine - 12" x 12"

Photos trimmed to 10cm x 15cm and 10cm x 7.5cm (x3)

Matt layers - Mango Melody Cardstock - 10.5cm x 15.5cm and 10.5cm x 23.5cm

Title, journalling labels and butterflies were all created with scraps of Mango Melody and Basic White Cardstock, dies and punches. 

Tip - Adhere a piece of Foam Adhesive Sheet to your Mango Melody cardstock before die cutting title with Alphabet A La Mode Dies.
