By The Bay Marine Birds Card

The By The Bay Suite Collection in the new January-April 2023 Mini Catalogue is a beautiful sea-themed collection of products that includes images of sea birds, seashells, a clamshell with a pearl, sand, a crab and lovely sentiments for various occasions.

I took my inspiration for this card from the new catalogue and changed it up a bit to make it my own, including changing the orientation to landscape. I also included the new Happy Labels Pick A Punch for my sentiment label, which is also from the new catalogue.   

By the Bay Marine Birds Card

I started with a card base of Sahara Sand and used the Designer Series Paper for the background and the waves. The birds were stamped in Basic Gray, then coloured with Light Night of Navy and Light Petal Pink Stampin' Blends. The grasses were created by cutting Sahara Sand cardstock with the dies and inking them with Sahara Sand ink and a Sponge Dauber. For the label I used Balmy Blue ink and a Blending Brush on Basic White Cardstock, stamped my sentiment in Sahara Sand ink and punched each end with the new Happy Labels Pick A Punch. I added a scatter of the new Flat Adhesive-Backed Pearls to the shoreline to complete my card. I love the shimmer and shine of these new embellishments and they are actually flatter than you expect, which is great for scrapbooking layouts, as well as for cards.
