Gnome Christmas Gift Box

Last weekend, I spent a lovely afternoon with some of my team members during our monthly Team Gathering. Afterwards we had a fun time as one of our team members, Robyn showed us how to create a cute fold flat box. I then shared how to make the box on my weekly Facebook Live Creative Time and this time used the Gnomes Dies, Storybook Gnomes Designer Series Paper and the Alphabest Bundle to create my very cute Gnome Christmas Gift Box.

Gnome Christmas Gift Box
I had so much fun making this cute little box. The Gnomes Dies are just so adorable and the Storybook Gnomes Designer Series Paper created the perfect snowy background for this cute little guy.

This was the fourth of these boxes that I made, the first being in imperial measurements from the pattern by Heather Forgan of Stampin with Nellie. My team members Robyn, very cleverly converted the imperial measurements to metric, with a few adjustments, to create a slightly wider and shorter box. It's a great size for a small gift or yummy treat.

Here are the others I created as well, using the Cottage Wreath Bundle, Brilliant Wings Dies and Cup of Tea Bundle.  You can use any stamp or die set to create your own design or use Designer Series Paper and embellish as you like. There really are endless options.

Score on long side at - 1.5cm, 3.5cm, 10.5cm & 12.5cm

Score on short side at - 1.5cm, 3.5cm, 12cm & 14cm

Fold and burnish all score lines, then with the long side of cardstock horizontal, snip each vertical score line up to the second horizontal score line.

Then cut away shaded sections and mitre cut all the remaining tabs on the box base, as seen in photo below.

Cut away the shades sections and mitre the remaining tabs.

Your trimmed template should look like this.

Flip your box base over and embellish as desired.
For the sections of the box, you will need Designer Series Paper or stamped Basic White cardstock measuring:
Two of 6.5cm x 8cm (front and back)
Two of 1.5cm x 8cm (for sides)
Two of 1.5 x 6.5cm (top and bottom)

Once embellished, fold in the long tab on the left side over toward the inside of the box and apply adhesive. Then bring the right side of the box over to meet the folded tab and adhere together. Your box can be stored flat like this until you are ready to use it.
Fold in the top and bottom tabs in to form the lid and base of the box.
