Beautiful Friendship - Pretty flowers

When I was a child, we had beautiful flowers in our garden. Huge purple hydrangea, pretty camellias in reds, pinks and white, roses and a whole heaps of others that of which I can't even remember the names. I have lots of good memories in those gardens and that backyard.

We also had amazing flowering trees - Jacaranda trees with their gorgeous purple flowers and amazing Stenocarpus sinuatus, otherwise known as Firewheel trees, which is apparently an Australian rainforest tree in the Protea family (thanks Google). No idea how we came to have one of those in our backyard, as we grew up in Sydney suburbia and certainly not in a rainforest.

One flower we didn't have (at least I don't remember that we did) was the peony flowers. I love peonies and Stampin' Up!® has a whole suite dedicated to them, which is awesome.

Stampin' Up!® also has the Beautiful Friendship stamp set currently in the 2020-2021 Annual Catalogue, which is a Distinktive stamp set and has hydrangeas, as well as peonies (or perhaps they are a kind of wild rose), also Lavender, (or perhaps they are Heather Flowers). I'm not exactly sure what type of flowers the latter two are, but they are beautiful no matter. This stamp set also has some great sentiments for all kinds of occasions. This stamp set reminds me of my childhood and that is one reason I love it. Also because it is really pretty.

This stamp set is so easy to use by layering all the different flowers, stamens and leaves in different colours, to give a very pretty look. It's a great stamp set for any level of stamper.

I created a really quick and easy card on a Thick Whisper White card base, using Classic Stampin' Pads in Rococo Rose, Rich Razzleberry, Highland Heather and Pear Pizzazz.

I then created a stepped up version of the same card for those that like a bit more of a challenge.

I started with a base of Pear Pizzazz and included an extra layer in Highland Heather, which I mounted with Stampin' Dimensionals, a punched shape sentiment label using the Everyday Label Punch, some sponge daubering in Rococo Rose on the label, some Rococo Rose Scalloped Linen Ribbon and of course some bling with our gorgeous and shiny Rhinestone Basic Jewels. I just love the effect of all those flowers. So pretty!

These cards were actually inspired by the cover of my Technique Notebook album that I stamped recently, using the same stamp set.
My Technique Notebook holds samples of all of the techniques that I teach my Technique Club. There is more information on the Technique Club tab at the top of my this page, or you can email me for more information about my Technique Club, or about my other classes that I offer.

I hope you have enjoyed these projects and feel inspired to make some pretty cards.
