Above The Clouds for my Husband

In September we celebrated my husband’s birthday. I was wondering which stamp set to use to make his birthday card, as we had just recently celebrated Father’s Day and our wedding anniversary, so I had already made him a couple of cards in the previous two weeks. I always find masculine cards a challenge.

I saw a card on Pinterest using the Above The Clouds Stamp Set and coordinating punch which inspired me. Though my husband is terrified of heights and would never in a million years ride in a hot air balloon, I thought it would make a great masculine card.

The original card I’m CASEing was made by Sarahinkspot.com and is pictured below.

I adapted Sarah’s original design and added my own touches.

As you can see the basic layout is almost the same with just a few changes.

I used different colours, sentiment, embellishments and created different clouds, so I guess you could say I made it my own.

I had a lot of fun creating my clouds. First I traced the cloud patterns from the Pattern Party Decorative Masks onto Whisper White Cardstock and cut them out. I then covered the clouds in Snowfall Accents Puff Paint (from the 2019 Holiday Catalogue pg 19.) and heated with the Heat tool. It's amazing to watch as they puff up. So much fun.

I then decided to make my husband a coordinating gift bag using the Tags and More Accessory Kit, Delightful Day Stamp Set and Copper Dotted Treat Bags. The Accessory Kit made it so quick and easy to decorate the gift bag. 

I also used the small hot air balloons from the Above The Clouds Stamp Set.

Inside the bag I had some yummy chocolate treats for hubby.

I love making special gift bags, boxes and packaging to coordinate with my cards.
