Thank Goodness For Grandma

Grandmas are very special people in our lives, don’t you think? Perhaps you are the Grandma who is special in your grandchildren's lives.

My Grandmas both passed on many years ago, but they were both very special to me.
I have many lovely memories of them both.

Grandma’s House is an adorable stamp set that is perfect for creating something special for those special Grandmas.

The little apple tree in this Stamp Set reminds me of the fruit trees that one of my Grandmas grew in her massive back yard in the small country town where she lived and where my parents had grown up.
Growing up in the city as I did, it was always fun to go visit Grandma H, not only for her amazingly yummy baked goods, but also to play in her huge backyard with the red dirt and three corner jacks (a three cornered thorn on the ground - ouch!) and pick the fresh fruit straight from the trees. That’s something we didn’t have in the city. Just don’t ask me about the horrid outdoor dinkum dunny though - yuck! However that dinkum dunny was all part of the country experience when I was a kid. Grandma did get an indoor loo eventually though, thank goodness. Of course I have many other memories of time spent at Grandma's house.

My adult children still have their two Grandmas and they have their own special memories, but they are their stories to tell.

I have a lot of friends who are Grandmas now, so I thought this would be a great stamp set for me to use to make something special for them.

I myself am not a Grandma yet, but hope to be, one day.

To colour the images for this card I used the Stampin' Blends alcohol markers as my colouring medium. I'm certainly no artist, so I love that these Blends are so easy to use and look great.
