Faux Embroidery with Papercraft

Faux embroidery is the next best thing to actual needle and thread for a papercrafter. I use to enjoy cross stitch many years ago and my beautiful Mum use to create wonderful embroidery, one of which adorns one of the the walls in my craft room. So when I saw the Needlepoint Nook Suite products in the 2019 Stampin’ Up! Occasions Catalogue, I just knew it would be one of my favourites.

Today I’m sharing a few more cards I made recently using the Needlepoint Nook Suite. All three have been inspired by other creations I have seen, but in each case I have changed the design slightly to make it my own. That’s what we call Casing or, to CASE (Copy And Selectively Edit). I love to create my own designs, but I also like to copy and edit other wonderful creations that I see. There are so many talented card makers out there and it’s lovely to share those creations with others.

This first card was originally designed by a Demonstrator in the UK and was on display at the 2018 November Onstage, which is an event for Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators, held all around the world, twice a year. Unfortunately the photo I saw did not have a name attached so I am unsure of the original creator. This card has been re-designed many times by different people and my card was based on the design by Zoe Tant. I’ve made a few slight changes to Zoe’s design and I just love the blue and white combination.

The second card was inspired by the very talented Narelle Fasulo. I used different papers and colours to Narelle's card and added the decorative die banner for the sentiment from the Needlepoint Nook Suite. I love the combination of Poppy Parade and Crushed Curry. These are not normally colours I work with, but they go together really well.

The next little gift card measures 3x3" and fits our Stampin' Up! 3x3" envelopes. It was inspired by Margi Stamps. As in the other two cards above, I have made my own changes to the original design, changed the colours and made some additions.
I have used Highland Heather and Blackberry Bliss with Silver Metallic Thread and the Share What You Love Artisan Pearls.

All three cards were such a pleasure to make and I hope you like them too.
