Gentleman Encouragement Card

As a lover of all things pretty and floral, I find it challenging to make masculine cards.

I was asked to make a masculine encouragement card and so I thought aha! True Gentleman Designer Series Paper (DSP)! I hadn't yet had the chance to create with it, so this was the perfect choice! It will be retiring at the end of  May, so I wanted to use some of it up.

My next challenge was to keep it simple. I don't often do simple, as I usually like lots of detail, layers, embellishing and bling. Can't bling a masculine card though!

I then wondered about an appropriate greeting and simple embellishment. I knew this gentleman was a Christian fellow, so the Thoughts and Prayers sentiment and the Cross of Hope Framelits Dies were perfect.

Here is what I came up with:

I used the Tailored Tag Punch to punch out the sentiment and added some Enamel Dots in Night of Navy to each end of the tag, as well as to the centre of the cross.

For the ribbon with bow tie, I used some Night of Navy Crinkle Seam Binding Ribbon, folded in half and I attached the bow separately with a Mini Glue Dot.

As I used Chocolate Chip cardstock for the base, I needed to add a light coloured insert to write on.
I used Very Vanilla cardstock, inked the edges with Chocolate Chip ink and added a strip of True Gentleman DSP to the bottom, to tie in with the front of the card.

Some of these products will be retiring at the end of May as our new Catalogue launches on 1st June.
